At Columbia Kinder Care, we give children several opportunities to learn, explore, and play with each other. Our spacious classroom is filled with toys and games designed so that small children can learn through play, including plenty of open boxes, stuffed animals, books, blocks, puzzles and more.
By being surrounded by other children their age, toddlers will learn vital social skills and how to build friendships. Our trained staff is here to make sure your child has a safe environment in which they can learn—and have fun! We also provide transportation for your child; this is a great way for them to get used to taking care of themselves while still being under your watchful eye. In addition to keeping them safe on the road, we teach them about how our world works by introducing them to things like traffic lights, crossing guards and stop signs in a controlled environment where they won’

At CKC, these children are “Sophomores.” We focus on cognitive skills, social/emotional/personal development, gross and fine motor skills, speech, and language development.
Children in this age progress rapidly and we work with them to:
1. Know their full name and count to 10.
2. Categorize by shape, size, color.
3. Uses sign language for several words.
4. Holds crayons correctly and starts scribbling.
5. Shows empathy for others.
6. Takes part in role play activities.
This age group are referred to as “Juniors” at CKC. We focus on cognitive skills, social/emotional skills, listening, language, gross and fine motor skills, math readiness, signing and our second language (Spanish).
